Grand Hotel Marstrand* * * * SHR

Marstrand, Kungälv

Marstrand Island is a west coast idyll of pastel blue, yellow, green and dazzling white wooden buildings that wrap around the town up towards Carlsten Fort. Marstrand is the go-to spot for world-class, summertime sailing events in Sweden and Grand Hotel Marstrand is the hotel to stay at on the island.

Four-star Grand Hotel Marstrand, built in 1892, has the timeless elegance and architectural style of the era it was built in. It offers a first class stay in a charming Swedish west coast archipelago setting.

Enjoy it for its four stars. Enjoy it for its stylishly decorated rooms and its stunning sea views.

Restaurang Grand Tenan

The Grand Tenan restaurant is rightly famous for signature dishes beef tenderloin Africana and garlic gratinated langoustine; both from the original recipes. Here you also can dine á la carte on top-class Bohuslän archipelago-inspired dishes

Grand Tenan appears in the White Guide, Sweden’s leading restaurant guide, Sveriges Bästa Bord, (Sweden’s Best Restaurants) restaurant guide and, of course, it is a Taste of Sweden-accredited restaurant.

Book a table at Verandan (the Veranda) here for some great eats and fabulous views of the harbour. Remember, this is shellfish country; West Coast lobster, oysters, langoustine and shrimp are on the menu.

For more privacy eat inside at Tenan with space for 24 guests. And if you are a party of 10 book the wine cellar and rub shoulders with some fabulous vintages. Bakfikan in the hotel is for the boaty crowd, the locals and you, if you’re after eating and drinking with a casual slant.
